Version 1.3.0 released!


Hey everyone! Version 1.3.0 is out! This is a "major" update and one of the final non-bugfix updates!

In it, I've replaced the final puzzle of the game. I've never liked this puzzle but was hitting crunch time and had to throw something together. The reason I didn't like it is because 1) it's fairly obvious how to solve it because you've solved 2-3 similar puzzles already, and 2) it's tedious to solve it. Both of these together can make for a frustrating puzzle--especially if you fail it and have to try again.

The new puzzle also incorporates some earlier puzzle elements that I wanted to include in another puzzle in this dungeon but didn't have the space in which to do so earlier. I don't know that it's particularly difficult (we'll see I guess, lol), but I think it should be more enjoyable to work it out.

Some other updates since the previous devlog:

  • Updated the Studio Spacefarer logo
  • Fixed the deactivation logic when using stairs and other "teleporters" (it was running the scripts too early and deactivating the tall grass in the target room since the teleporters have some transition timings)
  • Fixed the smoothing options, which were actually using one option higher than the selected option (so if you selected x2 it would be x3)
  • Updated the camera easing--this will now affect screen transitioning and following the swap spell energy (which doesn't matter for this episode, but still needed!) as well as the normal camera following the player (which was already available). This will eventually be an option in the in-game menu, but for now, it can be turned off and on in the settings.ini file. (located in %localappdata%\ProtoDungeon_2\settings.ini... 0 is off, 1 is on; I highly recommend turning it off particularly when using pixel-perfect mode)
